Misty Solt

Meet Dr. Misty Solt, PhD, LPC-S, LCDC, BCN, a seasoned therapist with a wealth of experience and expertise in counseling and play therapy. Dr. Solt holds numerous certifications and licenses, including being a Registered Play Therapy-Supervisor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Board Certified in Neurotherapy. She earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Illinois University and completed her Doctorate in Counseling with a specialty in Play Therapy at the University of North Texas.

With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Solt has worked extensively in various counseling settings, including school crisis counseling, in-home counseling, agency counseling, and private practice. Currently serving as an Associate Clinical Professor at SMU, Dr. Solt also previously held positions as the Clinic Director of the SMU Center for Family Counseling and Assistant Director of the Center for Play Therapy.

In addition to her academic and clinical roles, Dr. Solt is deeply involved in community initiatives, serving on the Frisco Independent School District Hope Rising Team and the Board of Directors for Camp C.O.P.E., among others. She is also an author and has contributed to the field through various articles and publications.

Passionate about helping children, adolescents, and families, Dr. Solt brings a compassionate and comprehensive approach to therapy, integrating her diverse skill set to support individuals in their healing journey. Whether providing counseling services, supervision to interns and therapists, or contributing to trauma response teams, Dr. Solt’s dedication to mental health and well-being shines through in all aspects of her work.
